World-Class Wagyu

At Santos Patronos Ranch we have committed to producing only the highest quality Wagyu in the industry. We do so using the best genetics in the Wagyu world, constantly striving to best ourselves each time we breed one of our cows. BREEDPLAN’s Mating Predictor offers the most thorough and accurate assessment for Wagyu breeding programs. Every one of our matings, whether natural conception or in the laboratory, is carefully planned, matching the best available genetics for the sire and the dame to produce even greater progeny.

Our four bulls are Top 1% bulls in the Wagyu world. Each of them are generational breeding tools with growth and marbling that will transform efficiency in the Wagyu industry in North America.

M6 Ranch Itoshigenami R073H

073H, also known as “Mr Universe”, is the record setting L10-sired bull from the most recent M6 sale and sold for a record $190,000 for 50% interest. In the July 2022 BREEDPLAN, he leads with top 1% in all four Selection Indexes including WBI (+$351), SRI (+$325), FTI (+$274), and F1TI (+$226). He is free of all genetic conditions. Straws available for USA and Canada and now located in both countries.

M6 Ranch Itoshigenami R0122H

Available for the first time, we are able to offer female sexed units for M6RFR0122H. An L10-sired bull, 0122H was selected for the 2022 AWA-PTP Progeny Study in Australia. This elite North American bull leads on BREEDPLAN in both size, growth, marbling and carcass qualities. In the recent July 2022 BREEDPLAN, he leads with top 1% in all four Selection Indexes including WBI (+$349), SRI (+$326), FTI (+$278), and F1TI (+$234).

108J

M6 Ranch Itoshigenami 108J

M6 Ranch Itoshigenami 108J is an L10-sired bull and was one of the top selling bulls from the most recent M6 sale. 108J is a ¾ maternal brother to “Mr Universe 073H”. This elite North American born bull leads on BREEDPLAN in both size, growth, marbling and carcass qualities. In the recent July 2022 BREEDPLAN, he leads with top 1% in all four Selection Indexes including WBI (+$313), SRI (+$319), FTI (+$270), and F1TI (+$244). 108J is in the CSS qualifying phase and will have exportable straws after July 15, 2022.

LMR Mayura 0399H

LMR Mayura 0399H is a top 1% bull of the world leading Lone Mountain program. He is son of the world leading Mayura L0010 who ranks tops in every Selection Index ranking for Wagyu Sires. Like his sire, 0399H ranks in the Top 1% for Self-Replacing (+$273), Fullblood Terminal Index (+$244), F1 Terminal Index (+$232), and in the Top 3% for the Wagyu Breeder (+$257). 0399H ranks in the Top 2% for (Ribeye) EMA EBV (+7.9) and in the Top 5% for Marble Score EBV (+2.1) of all the animals ranked by BREEDPLAN. Embryo Transfer Program

Santos Patronos Ranch is able to produce top quality Wagyu through our meticulous embryo transfer program. All of our Wagyu cattle are registered with the Australian Wagyu Association and the American Wagyu Association. Genomic data from BREEDPLAN enables Santos Patronos Ranch to use BREEDPLAN’s Mating Predictor to match the highest quality semen with the highest quality embryos, enhancing the most desirable traits, such as marbling.

Recipient Cows

Santos Patronos Ranch uses Registered BeefMasters and Black Angus cows as recipients for its embryo transfer program. These proven momma cows offer superior maternal traits and are able to successfully carry and deliver top 1% fullblood Wagyu calves. Using embryo transfer and recipient cows, an elite Wagyu dame can produce up to 30 fullblood Wagyu calves per year!

F1s

Our recipient cows get two chances for a successful pregnancy on our embryo transfer program. After that, we let nature take its course. Adam, our foundational herd bull, gets to work. The calves that are born are 50% top Wagyu and 50% Registered BeefMaster or Black Angus. These crossbreeds, also known as F1s, produce delicious luxury beef, tender and flavorful. Most of the Wagyu found in grocery stores and restaurants is F1 meat.
